Custom Label Design
Don't have print-ready artwork? Our in-house design team will build your label from the ground up — sized to your spec, prepped for press, and proofed before anything goes to production.
How It Works
Four steps from idea to finished label. We do the production prep so you don't have to.
- Tell us what you need Configure your label (shape, size, material, finish) in the quoter and select "Upload elements for our design team" when you reach the upload step. Send us your logo, brand colors, reference images, or even a rough sketch — whatever you've got.
- We design it A LabelSwift designer builds your artwork to fit the exact die you ordered. We handle the dieline, bleed, and safe areas so your label is press-ready from the start.
- Review your proof You'll get an email when your proof is ready, with the artwork and dieline shown together. Approve it, or click Request Changes and tell us what to tweak.
- We print it Once you approve, your order moves into production on the next available run. You'll get tracking when it ships.
Design Service Pricing
Simple, flat pricing. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices — you'll know the cost up front.
Every design fee includes:
- A custom-built label designed to your exact spec
- Up to 2 rounds of revisions per version
- A digital proof with dieline overlay for your approval
- A production-ready PDF, kept on file for future reorders
If the project scope shifts significantly mid-design (new concept, additional versions, brand direction change), we'll quote any extra design time on a case-by-case basis before we start the work — never a surprise on your invoice.
What to Send Us
The more reference material you share, the closer the first proof will land. Send anything you have — we'll work with it.

Review & Approve Your Proof
Your design proof works exactly the same way our print-ready proof works. Nothing goes to press until you sign off.
The Proof Approval Process
- We send your proof Once your design is built, you'll get an email letting you know it's ready. The proof shows your artwork laid out on the dieline so you can see exactly how it'll trim and where the safe area is.
- You review it carefully Open the proof from the email link or log into My Account → Orders. Check spelling, colors, sizing, dieline placement — anything that matters.
- Approve or request changes Click Approve to send it into production. Or click Request Changes, tell us what needs to be adjusted, and we'll send a revised proof.
- Production begins Once you approve, your order moves into production on the next available run. The estimated turnaround on your order page kicks in from this point.
Once you approve a proof, it goes to production and we can't pull it back. Please double-check spelling, colors, placement, and dieline before clicking approve. LabelSwift isn't responsible for errors on approved proofs.
Design Timeline
Here's roughly what to expect, start to finish. Add this to your standard production turnaround for total time.
| Stage | Typical Time |
|---|---|
| First proof from order placement | 1–2 business days |
| Each revision round | 1 business day |
| Your review time (varies) | You decide |
| Production after final approval | See your order's production estimate |
Designs requiring multiple versions or unusually complex artwork may take longer. We'll let you know up front if your project falls outside the typical window.
Your Design, Your Rights
The artwork we create is yours. We don't license it back to you, and we don't restrict how you use it.
Common Questions
What if I have print-ready PDFs for some versions but not others?
No problem. You can pick the design pathway version-by-version in the quoter. You'll only be charged the design fee for the versions where you ask for our help.
Can you match my existing brand?
Yes. Send us your logo files, brand guide, color codes (Pantone, hex, CMYK — whatever you have), and example labels or packaging. The more we have to work with, the closer the first proof will land.
What if I don't like the proof?
Click Request Changes in your proof email or on your order page, and tell us what to fix. Each version comes with 2 included revision rounds — that covers most projects comfortably.
Can I see examples of your design work?
We're building out our portfolio gallery. In the meantime, if you'd like to see samples of work we've done in your industry (food, beverage, cosmetics, cannabis, etc.), just drop us a line and we'll send relevant examples.
Will the design fee delay my order?
A little — figure 1–2 extra business days for design, plus the time you take to approve the proof. Your production turnaround estimate kicks in once the proof is approved.
Do you offer label templates I could use myself?
Yes. After you configure a label in the quoter, you can download a free SVG template at the exact die size with bleed and safe-zone guides. Open it in Illustrator or Inkscape and design directly into it. The template is free whether you order or not.
What if my project is more complex than a standard label?
If you need something beyond a single label design — a full label series with shared elements, custom illustration work, or compliance-heavy nutrition facts panels — contact us before you order. We'll quote the project up front so there are no surprises.
Ready to Get Started?
Configure your label, choose the design service option at the upload step, and we'll take it from there.
